For those who were looking forward to the prestige and grandeur of the Royal Lymington Yacht Club, there is disappointment to report. We had made a provisional booking with the RLYC made back in November 2024 which was accepted and confirmed. Last week when seeking menu choices, they advised that due to staff shortages, they can no longer honour our booking. Even after strong protestations, they held their position and need to let us down.

If you were thinking of joining this rally but felt the atmosphere of the Royal Lymington Yacht Club was a little too formal and stuffy, hopefully you will see this as good news - as is the following:-

We will still moor together on the Dan Bran pontoon but, instead, in the evening, we will get together at around 7:00 7:30, at Lymington Town Sailing Club (LTSC ).

They have kindly offered to provide us with a reserved table, a hearty supper and drinks a great social arrangement. It will not be a formal 3 course dinner but there will be Lasagne or Cottage Pie, Filled Jacket Potatoes, Loaded Fries, Salads etc. We will be able to order individually and settle our own bills on the night.

I do understand that if this is not for you, you may wish to cancel your ticket on the website. However, I do think that given half decent weather, the sail down and the camaraderie of meeting up with club friends will still make for a good event. So please still come if you would like to. We'd love to see you there.

There will no longer be a requirement to pay a £5 deposit (more good news!) but I will need confirmation of those attending by 1st September please.
