It's been a busy weekend at POG!

Published 14:20 on 12 Apr 2026

This weekend has seen POG come fully alive with much activity in and around the Club.

Friday evening saw 40+ members gather in the Clubhouse for fish and chips. This was an excellent evening that started the weekend well with chatting taking place late into the evening.

Saturday morning the weather was kind to the 100+ members who attended the spring work party at Weevil and the mini work party at Wicor. The galley was in full swing with mid morning rolls prepared for those attending, plenty of tea and coffee on tap and then lunch of hot dogs with salad or beans and dessert after. Thank you to the galley team and all the members attending that enabled the list of jobs to be ticked off.

There was just time for the Committee to change and members to change before the AGM with concluded with Commodore Awards being awarded to Steve Staples and Gosport Cruising Club, and Appreciation Award for Trevor Pottle and a one of award for Jenny Chilvers - the "Moving Mountains Award".

The day was rounded of with it being POG's turn to host the inter club quiz. Phil Corcoran acted as quiz master but I dont think that had anything to do with POG winning on the night and Portchester Sailing Club winning overall
