Bembridge Mid-Week Potter
Mid-Week potter to Bembridge, with lunch at the Brading Haven Yacht Club. Carry the tide in from about 11:30am and leave before about 15:30, depending on your draft. Check the tide gauge NW of St Helens Fort before entering. Berthing on the Duver pontoon under the direction of the berthing staff (pre-booking is not possible for short stays. Skippers to settle their fees individually). For those who have never been to Bembridge, it is a very pleasant walk from the Duver moorings to Brading Haven YC along the causeway containing the pound for the now defunct tide mill. Alternatively, there is a Water Taxi, which would be quicker. We'd aim to sit down for lunch by around 13:00. It is all very informal and an opportunity to clear the cobwebs after the winter hibernation. Be aware of parking restrictions at POG; It is the penultimate day of the Spring Launch. If there is no space on the grass, you may need to park on the other side of the bridge: a four-hour limit applies in RCY. If you are overnighting, contact liftmanager@pog-cssa.co.uk who will probably be able to find a space within the yard. If you intend partaking make the booking per person, so that I can advise caterers of probable numbers for lunch. No pre-booking of meals, just pay on the day for what you have.
